Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Agreement") govern your use of the Bots for Music website, mobile applications, and all related services (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is owned and operated by Bots for Music, a company registered at Jektivøya 72, 8187 Jektvik, Rødøy, Norge. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by this Agreement in its entirety. If you do not agree with these terms, you must not use the Service.

This Agreement is between Bots for Music and you, or the legal entity you represent ("you"). If you are entering this Agreement on behalf of an entity, you confirm you have the authority to bind that entity.

User-Submitted Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service, such as audio files or YouTube links for transcription. By submitting content, you warrant that you have all necessary rights, permissions, or licenses to submit and process this content, including the legal authority to extract and transcribe audio from YouTube videos. You grant Bots for Music and its service providers a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, temporary license to store, process, and modify your content as needed to deliver the Service (e.g., extracting audio, generating MIDI files, or creating previews). Submitted content is stored for up to 30 days and then deleted.

You agree not to submit content that violates any third-party intellectual property rights, copyrights, or other proprietary rights. You are solely responsible for ensuring your submissions comply with applicable laws, including copyright regulations, and for any consequences arising from your actions.

Content Removal Requests

Bots for Music does not store or publicly share user-submitted audio, video, or transcriptions. All transcriptions are generated automatically for the submitting user via our AI tools and are not accessible to others. Transcriptions can be edited by users but are not distributed or reused.

If a copyright holder wishes to prevent transcription of their work, they may request removal of specific songs, artists, or content by emailing support@botsformusic.com. Bots for Music reserves the right to review and act on such requests at its discretion, and compliance with a request does not imply admission of liability.

Transcription Quality

Transcriptions are generated automatically by our AI algorithms, and perfect accuracy is not guaranteed. Quality may vary depending on audio clarity, recording conditions (e.g., background noise, reverb), or musical complexity (e.g., multiple instruments, vocals). The Service performs best with clear, single-instrument recordings. Including vocals or dense arrangements may result in less accurate transcriptions. Users are encouraged to review and adjust transcriptions as needed.

YouTube Link Integration

The Service allows you to submit YouTube links for audio extraction and transcription. By using this feature, you agree to abide by YouTube's Terms of Service (available at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms) and confirm you have the legal right to process the audio from the submitted link.

Bots for Music may utilize the YouTube Data API (v3) for features like video search or metadata retrieval. YouTube is operated by YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA, a subsidiary of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Submitting a YouTube link may establish a connection to YouTube's servers, which could log your activity. If logged into a YouTube account, your activity may be linked to your profile. To avoid this, log out of YouTube before using the Service.

Our use of YouTube integration is based on legitimate interests to enhance user experience, as permitted under applicable data protection laws (e.g., Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). See Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy for details.

You acknowledge that extracting audio from YouTube may violate YouTube's Terms of Service without proper authorization. Bots for Music does not promote or facilitate unauthorized use, and you indemnify Bots for Music against any claims arising from your submitted links.

Service Limits

Bots for Music may impose restrictions on the size, duration, or number of transcriptions or requests you can submit (e.g., file size caps, daily limits). These limits may differ by subscription plan and can be modified at our discretion. Exceeding limits may result in restricted access or additional charges.

Usage Disclaimer

"Unlimited" usage allows for personal transcription needs. Maximum song length is 15 minutes. Processing more than 25 songs in 24 hours or 50 songs per week may result in your requests being placed in a slower queue. Excessive use of unusually long songs or automated bulk uploads may result in suspension of your subscription. For high-volume or industrial use, we offer B2B plans with dedicated bulk processing.

Payments and Subscriptions

By purchasing a product or subscribing, you agree to pay Bots for Music the specified fees plus applicable taxes. Payments are processed immediately via your chosen payment method.

Subscriptions may be usage-based (billed monthly for actual use) or fixed-term (billed upfront for monthly or annual periods). Usage-based plans are billed at the end of each month for the prior month's activity. Fixed-term plans are billed at the start of the term.

You authorize Bots for Music to charge your provided payment method. We may adjust fees or introduce new charges with at least 30 days' notice via email or in-app alerts. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

Refund Policy

All purchases are final, and refunds are granted only for technical issues or at Bots for Music's discretion. Subscription fees are non-refundable unless required by law. Refund requests must be submitted to support@botsformusic.com within 7 days of purchase.

User Accounts

Certain features require an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access at support@botsformusic.com.

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, AI algorithms, designs, and Bots for Music-generated content (excluding user submissions), is owned by Bots for Music or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal or internal business purposes.

Transcriptions generated from your submissions belong to you, but you grant Bots for Music a license to use anonymized data to improve the Service.

Prohibited Activities

You may not: (a) use the Service for unlawful purposes or to violate third-party rights; (b) attempt to reverse-engineer or extract source code; (c) submit malicious content; (d) automate access without permission; or (e) resell the Service without a license.

Termination

Bots for Music may suspend or terminate your access to the Service for violations of this Agreement, with or without notice. Upon termination, your access rights end, and we may delete your data.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties, express or implied, including for accuracy, reliability, or suitability for a specific purpose. Bots for Music does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Bots for Music shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, even if informed of their possibility. Our liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bots for Music, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or losses arising from your use of the Service, your submitted content, or breaches of this Agreement, including copyright claims related to YouTube links or audio files.

Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Norway, excluding conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Rødøy, Norway.

Changes to Terms

We may revise this Agreement at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes indicates your acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notifications with at least 30 days' notice.
